What is it used for?
Empagliflozin + linagliptin is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

How does it work?
Empagliflozin helps the kidneys remove excess glucose through urine. Linagliptin increases the effect of natural hormones that help the body release insulin after meals and reduce glucose production.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Maintain adequate fluid intake unless a doctor has advised fluid restriction.

Common side effects
Increased urination, thirst, urinary tract infections, genital fungal infections, and low blood sugar—especially when used with insulin or sulfonylurea medicines. Nausea or stomach discomfort may also occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney disease, frequent urinary or genital infections, dehydration, or a history of pancreatitis. Seek urgent medical help for severe nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, unusual tiredness, breathing difficulty, or confusion, as these may indicate ketoacidosis. Report severe genital pain or swelling, allergic reactions, or persistent severe abdominal pain. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
