Description

Emsyl-500 contains Ethamsylate, a haemostatic agent used to reduce and control abnormal or excessive bleeding.
It works by strengthening capillary walls, improving platelet function, and reducing capillary bleeding.
Common uses include menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding), postoperative bleeding, and bleeding associated with surgical or gynecological procedures.

Precautions

Use only as prescribed by a physician.
Not recommended in patients with active blood clots or thromboembolic disorders.
Use cautiously in patients with kidney or liver disease.
If used for heavy menstrual bleeding, seek medical evaluation to identify underlying causes.
Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Adverse Effects

Nausea or vomiting.
Headache.
Stomach discomfort.
Low blood pressure (rare).
Allergic reactions such as rash or swelling (rare).
