What is it used for?
Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots in the veins. It is commonly used after surgery, during hospital stays or periods of reduced movement, and in some heart-related conditions as prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It reduces the blood’s ability to form clots by blocking clotting factor Xa. This helps prevent existing clots from getting larger and reduces the risk of new clots forming.

How to take/use it
This medicine is usually injected under the skin, often by a healthcare professional or after proper instruction. Use it exactly as prescribed. Do not inject it into a muscle, and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Bruising, pain or redness at the injection site, bleeding, and anaemia may occur.

Precautions

Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or other blood-thinning medicines unless advised. Seek urgent medical help for heavy or unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe headache, sudden weakness, or difficulty breathing.
