Febuxokem - 40 Tablet (Febuxostat 40 mg)

Description

Febuxokem 40 contains Febuxostat 40 mg, a potent, selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces uric acid production in the body. It helps in long-term management of hyperuricemia associated with gout, thereby preventing gout attacks and urate crystal deposition.

Warnings and Precautions

Monitor serum uric acid levels periodically.

Use with caution in cardiovascular disease; risk of CV events reported.

Liver function tests should be done at baseline and periodically.

May cause gout flares at initiation — prophylaxis with colchicine or NSAID recommended.

Adverse Effects

Common: Elevated liver enzymes, diarrhea, rash, nausea, joint pain.
Serious: Hypersensitivity, hepatotoxicity, cardiovascular events (rare).
