Description

Febuxokem 80 contains Febuxostat, a selective non-purine inhibitor of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme responsible for converting hypoxanthine and xanthine to uric acid. By inhibiting this enzyme, Febuxostat reduces serum uric acid levels, thereby preventing crystal deposition and gout attacks.

Warnings and Precautions

Monitor serum uric acid regularly.

Caution in patients with cardiovascular disease; increased risk of cardiovascular events reported.

Discontinue if signs of allergic or skin reactions occur.

Not recommended in asymptomatic hyperuricemia.

Adverse Effects

Common: Liver function abnormalities, diarrhea, nausea, arthralgia, rash.

Rare but serious: Hypersensitivity reactions, hepatotoxicity, cardiovascular events.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Pregnancy: Use only if potential benefit justifies risk.

Lactation: Unknown if excreted in human milk; caution advised.
