What is it used for?
Ayurvedic iron syrup is used to prevent or treat iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anaemia, which may cause tiredness, weakness or pale skin. It should be used when iron supplementation is appropriate.

How does it work?
It supplies iron needed by the body to make haemoglobin, the substance in red blood cells that carries oxygen.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Measure the syrup with the supplied measuring device. Do not take more than recommended.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation or diarrhoea, and dark-coloured stools may occur.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if there is iron overload or an iron-storage disorder. Keep out of reach of children, as an overdose can be dangerous. Tell a healthcare professional about other medicines or supplements being taken, as iron may interact with some of them.
