What is it used for?
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin hives (urticaria).

How does it work?
It blocks histamine, a substance involved in allergic reactions. This helps reduce allergy symptoms and itching.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as directed by a doctor or as stated on the product label, with water. Avoid taking it with fruit juice, as this may reduce its absorption. If using aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids, ask a pharmacist about separating them from fexofenadine.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, dizziness, and tiredness may occur.

Precautions
Tell a doctor if there is kidney disease, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness or drowsiness occurs. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face or throat, breathing difficulty, or a severe allergic reaction.
