What is it used for?
This medicine is mainly used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Fexofenadine blocks histamine, a chemical that causes allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, substances involved in allergic inflammation and nasal swelling.

How to take/use it
Take it by mouth exactly as prescribed or directed on the label. Swallow with water and do not take more than the recommended amount. Avoid taking it with fruit juice unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach discomfort, dizziness, or tiredness may occur.

Precautions
Montelukast may rarely cause mood or behaviour changes, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts; report these symptoms promptly. This medicine is not a rescue treatment for a sudden asthma attack. Seek medical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding, or if there is a known allergy to either ingredient. Ask a pharmacist before taking aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids, as they may affect fexofenadine absorption.
