Flunzin 10 Tabs (20X10) Flunarizine 10 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Flunarizine is mainly used to prevent migraine attacks. It may also be prescribed to help manage vertigo (a spinning or dizzy sensation) caused by vestibular disorders. It is not usually used to treat a migraine attack after it has started.

How does it work?
It helps reduce the abnormal activity of calcium channels in nerve cells and can reduce the sensitivity of the balance centres in the inner ear. This helps prevent migraine and reduce vertigo in some people.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water and do not stop treatment without medical advice. Avoid driving or operating machinery until its effect on alertness is known.

Common side effects
Drowsiness, tiredness, increased appetite, weight gain, constipation, nausea and stomach discomfort may occur. Mood changes, depression or abnormal movements can occur and need medical attention.

Precautions
Tell the doctor before using it if there is a history of depression, Parkinson’s disease or other movement disorders. It may cause sleepiness; avoid alcohol and be careful with driving. Older adults may be more prone to movement-related side effects. Seek medical advice if depression, unusual movements, stiffness or severe drowsiness develops.
