Flunzin 5 Tabs (20X10) Flunarizine 5 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Flunarizine is mainly used to help prevent migraine attacks. It may also be prescribed for certain vertigo or balance problems. It does not usually provide immediate relief during an ongoing migraine attack.

How does it work?
It reduces the activity of calcium channels in nerve cells and helps decrease the abnormal nerve activity involved in migraine. It may also reduce overactivity in the balance system of the inner ear.

How to take/use it
Take it by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Take it regularly for the prescribed period, and do not stop treatment or change the dose without medical advice. Avoid driving or operating machinery until its effect on alertness is known.

Common side effects
Drowsiness, increased appetite, weight gain, tiredness, nausea, constipation and low mood or depression. Movement-related symptoms such as stiffness, tremors or unusual movements can occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about any history of depression, Parkinson’s disease or other movement disorders. Avoid alcohol and use caution with other medicines that cause drowsiness. Seek medical advice promptly for persistent low mood, tremors, stiffness or unusual movements. Older adults may be more sensitive to movement-related side effects.
