Flusid Cream (Fusidic Acid 0.2 %)

Composition:
Each gram of cream contains:

Fusidic Acid IP 0.2% w/w,Base: q.s.

Description:
Flusid Cream contains Fusidic Acid, a topical antibiotic belonging to the fusidane class. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through interference with elongation factor G (EF-G), thereby preventing bacterial replication.

It is highly effective against Gram-positive organisms, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant strains (MRSA).

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Discontinue use if irritation or hypersensitivity occurs.

Prolonged use may lead to bacterial resistance.

Use with caution in patients with known allergy to fusidic acid or formulation excipients.

Do not apply to large areas or under occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Mild burning, stinging, or itching at the application site.

Occasional: Rash, erythema, dryness.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis, hypersensitivity reactions.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, protected from heat and light.

Do not freeze.
