What is it used for?
Used to prevent or treat iron and folate deficiency, which can lead to nutritional anaemia. It may also provide vitamin B12 and zinc nutritional support.

How does it work?
Iron helps the body make haemoglobin and red blood cells. Folic acid and vitamin B12 support normal red blood cell formation, while zinc supports normal body functions.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed on the label or by a healthcare professional. Swallow with water and do not exceed the recommended amount. Tea, coffee, milk, calcium supplements and antacids may reduce iron absorption, so ask a pharmacist about suitable spacing.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea and dark-coloured stools may occur. Zinc may sometimes cause a metallic taste or nausea.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if there is iron overload, haemochromatosis or anaemia of an unknown cause. Keep out of reach of children, as iron overdose can be dangerous. Tell a healthcare professional about other medicines, especially antacids, calcium supplements, thyroid medicines and some antibiotics. Seek medical advice for severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting or signs of an allergic reaction.
