Folic Acid IP 5 mg

Description:
Folitas Tablet contains Folic Acid, a water-soluble B-vitamin (Vitamin B9) essential for the formation of healthy red blood cells, DNA synthesis, and cell division.
It is used in the treatment and prevention of folate deficiency anemia, megaloblastic anemia, and during pregnancy and lactation to prevent neural tube defects in the developing fetus.

Warnings and Precautions:

Use under medical supervision in patients with pernicious anemia or vitamin B12 deficiency, as folic acid alone may mask hematological symptoms while allowing neurological complications to progress.

Caution in patients with a history of allergic reactions to folic acid.

Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

Adverse Effects:
Generally well tolerated. Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or gastrointestinal discomfort may occur.

Storage:
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.
