What is it used for?
Used regularly to control asthma symptoms and prevent breathing problems. It may also be prescribed for other long-term obstructive airway conditions, such as COPD. It is not intended for immediate relief of a sudden asthma attack.

How does it work?
Budesonide reduces swelling and inflammation in the airways. Formoterol relaxes the airway muscles and keeps the airways open for longer.

How to take/use it
Use only with a nebulizer and exactly as prescribed. Do not swallow or inject the suspension. Use it regularly even when breathing is normal, unless the prescriber advises otherwise. Rinse the mouth with water after use and spit it out. Do not stop treatment suddenly without medical advice.

Common side effects
Hoarseness, throat irritation, cough, headache, oral fungal infection (thrush), tremor, fast heartbeat or palpitations, and muscle cramps may occur.

Precautions
This medicine does not replace a quick-relief inhaler for sudden breathing difficulty. Seek urgent medical help if breathing suddenly worsens or does not improve with the prescribed rescue medicine. Inform the doctor about heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems, low potassium, or recurrent infections. Avoid using other formoterol-containing medicines unless specifically advised. Rinse the mouth after each treatment and report persistent white patches or soreness in the mouth.
