Formic O 200 Tabs (20X10) Cefixime 200 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Cefixime is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as infections of the ears, throat, chest, urinary tract and other areas, when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work for viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
It stops susceptible bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria and helps clear the infection.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at regular times, and complete the full course even if symptoms improve. It may be taken with or without food. Do not share leftover antibiotics or use them without medical advice.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, indigestion and headache. Mild skin rash may also occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporins or certain penicillin antibiotics. Tell the doctor about kidney problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any medicines being used. Seek medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling, severe rash, or severe or persistent diarrhoea, especially if it contains blood.
