What is it used for?
This is a prescription antibacterial combination used to treat certain bacterial infections. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime interferes with the formation of the bacterial cell wall. Ofloxacin blocks enzymes bacteria need to grow and multiply.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed and follow the instructions on the label. Take the complete prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Do not skip doses or use leftover medicine. Take with water and separate it from antacids or mineral supplements if advised by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, indigestion, headache, dizziness, or skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to cefixime, other cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics, ofloxacin, or related quinolone antibiotics. Seek medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhoea, a serious rash, breathing difficulty, tendon pain or swelling, numbness, tingling, or unusual weakness. Tell the doctor about kidney disease, seizure disorders, heart-rhythm problems, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Avoid self-medication and do not drive if dizzy or less alert.
