What is it used for?
This combination is mainly used to relieve neuropathic pain, which is pain caused by irritated or damaged nerves. It may help with burning, shooting, tingling or electric-shock-like pain.

How does it work?
Gabapentin reduces abnormal nerve signalling, while nortriptyline changes pain-related chemical signals in the nervous system. Together, they help reduce nerve pain.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. Swallow the tablet with water and do not change the dose or stop treatment suddenly without medical advice. Avoid driving or operating machinery until its effects are known.

Common side effects
Sleepiness, dizziness, tiredness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, nausea and difficulty concentrating may occur.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol and use caution with sleeping tablets, opioid painkillers or other medicines that cause drowsiness. Tell the doctor about kidney problems, glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, heart problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
