What is it used for?
This combination is used to provide calcium and other nutrients that support bone strength and mineralisation. It may be recommended for calcium or nutrient deficiency and as part of bone-health care, including in people at risk of weak bones.

How does it work?
Calcium provides the main mineral needed for strong bones. Calcitriol helps the body absorb calcium, while vitamin K2, magnesium, zinc and other nutrients support normal bone metabolism.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed by a doctor or according to the product label. Do not take more than the recommended amount or add other calcium or vitamin D supplements unless advised. Calcium carbonate is generally taken with food; follow the specific instructions provided.

Common side effects
Constipation, stomach upset, bloating, nausea or abdominal discomfort may occur. Excess calcium can cause increased thirst, frequent urination, weakness or confusion and requires medical attention.

Precautions
Consult a doctor before use if there is kidney disease, a history of kidney stones, high blood calcium or vitamin D levels, or parathyroid disease. Calcitriol and calcium require medical supervision in some patients. Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all medicines being used, especially thyroid medicines, iron, certain antibiotics, bisphosphonates or other calcium/vitamin D products; these may need to be taken separately.
