Composition:

Gentamicin 80 mg per 2 mL

Description:

GENTATECH Injection contains Gentamicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic used to treat severe bacterial infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative and some Gram-positive organisms. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It is commonly used in infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, bloodstream, skin, and bones.

Precautions:

GENTATECH should be administered under medical supervision. Caution is advised in patients with kidney impairment, hearing disorders, or neuromuscular diseases. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically prescribed by a physician. Patients should inform their doctor about all other medications, particularly other nephrotoxic or ototoxic drugs, to avoid potential adverse interactions.

Adverse Effects:

Possible side effects include kidney toxicity, hearing disturbances, dizziness, or injection site reactions. Allergic reactions are rare but may occur. Monitoring of renal function and auditory function is recommended during therapy.
