What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when one medicine alone is not enough.

How does it work?
Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and helps the body use insulin better. Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin, lowering blood sugar.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually with or just before a meal, and swallow it with water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Do not skip meals while taking it.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, vomiting, loss of appetite, headache or dizziness. Stomach-related effects may improve as the body adjusts.

Precautions
Monitor blood sugar as advised. Know the warning signs of low blood sugar, such as sweating, shaking, hunger, dizziness or confusion. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, heavy alcohol use, dehydration, or any planned surgery or contrast-dye scan. Seek urgent medical help for severe weakness, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting or unusual drowsiness.
