What is it used for?
Used mainly to treat fungal infections of the skin, scalp, hair or nails caused by dermatophyte fungi. Cetirizine may help relieve associated itching or allergy-like symptoms.

How does it work?
Griseofulvin stops susceptible fungi from growing and spreading. Cetirizine blocks histamine, which helps reduce itching, redness and other allergic symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, preferably with food. Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve, and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach upset, diarrhoea, dizziness, dry mouth or drowsiness. Griseofulvin may also cause increased sensitivity to sunlight.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding or an allergy to either ingredient. Avoid driving or operating machinery if drowsy or dizzy. Use sun protection during treatment. Griseofulvin can reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives; discuss alternative contraception with a healthcare professional. Seek medical advice if severe rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or unusual tiredness occurs.
