What is it used for?
Used to prevent or treat iron-deficiency anaemia and support the formation of healthy red blood cells when iron, folic acid or vitamin B12 supplementation is needed.

How does it work?
Iron helps the body make haemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. Folic acid and vitamin B12 support the production of healthy red blood cells.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed by a doctor or according to the product label. Measure the liquid carefully and do not take more than recommended. If it causes stomach upset, taking it with food may help.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach upset, constipation or diarrhoea, and dark-coloured stools. Liquid iron may temporarily stain the teeth.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if there is iron overload, a known blood disorder, or anaemia of an unknown cause. Keep out of reach of children, as accidental iron overdose can be dangerous. Stop use and seek medical help for signs of a serious allergic reaction or severe vomiting or abdominal pain.
