What is it used for?
Used to prevent or treat iron deficiency and related anaemia. It also helps provide folic acid, vitamin B12 and zinc when these nutrients are low or increased intake is needed.

How does it work?
Iron helps the body make haemoglobin and red blood cells. Folic acid and vitamin B12 support normal red blood cell formation, while zinc supports several normal body functions.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Swallow with water. If it causes stomach upset, taking it with food may help. Avoid taking it at the same time as tea, coffee, calcium supplements or antacids unless advised otherwise.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea and dark-coloured stools may occur.

Precautions
Do not take more than recommended. Keep out of reach of children, as an iron overdose can be dangerous. Do not use it to treat unexplained anaemia without medical advice. Tell a healthcare professional about other medicines being taken, especially thyroid medicines, some antibiotics, antacids or calcium supplements.
