Intabact Ointment 5 Gm (Mupirocin 2% W/W) By Intas

What is it used for?
Mupirocin is a topical antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial skin infections, including impetigo and infected cuts, wounds or other skin areas.

How does it work?
It stops susceptible bacteria from making essential proteins, which prevents their growth and helps clear the infection.

How to take/use it
For use on the skin only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply as directed by the doctor or product label. Wash hands before and after applying it. Do not use it in the eyes, mouth or inside the nose unless specifically prescribed for that purpose.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness, dryness or a rash at the application site.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to mupirocin. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Stop use and seek medical help if severe irritation, swelling, breathing difficulty or a widespread rash occurs. Seek medical advice if the infection worsens or does not improve as expected. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.
