What is it used for?
Povidone iodine 10% is a topical antiseptic used to help prevent or treat infection in minor cuts, wounds and burns, and to disinfect the skin.

How does it work?
It releases iodine, which kills many types of bacteria, viruses and fungi on the skin.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Apply to the affected area as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas. Do not swallow.

Common side effects
Temporary skin irritation, redness, dryness or itching. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling or an allergic reaction occurs.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to povidone iodine or iodine-containing products. Avoid prolonged or repeated use over large areas, especially in people with thyroid problems. Seek medical advice for deep wounds, severe burns, extensive injuries or wounds that do not improve. Keep out of reach of children.
