What is it used for?
Povidone iodine 5% powder is a topical antiseptic used on minor cuts, grazes, wounds and burns to help reduce germs on the skin and lower the risk of infection.

How does it work?
It slowly releases iodine, which kills or inactivates many types of bacteria, viruses and fungi on the skin.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply the powder as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Avoid inhaling the powder and do not apply it to the eyes or inside the body.

Common side effects
Mild skin irritation, redness, dryness or itching may occur. Stop use and seek medical help if severe irritation, swelling or breathing difficulty develops.

Precautions
Avoid use if allergic to povidone iodine or iodine-containing products. Do not use on large or deep wounds, serious burns, or over large areas unless advised by a healthcare professional.
