Intamether-L 6 Tab (Arteether 80Mg + Lumefantrine 480Mg, Uncoated Tablet) By Intas

What is it used for?
Used to treat uncomplicated malaria, especially malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum. It is not suitable for severe malaria, which requires urgent hospital treatment.

How does it work?
Arteether and lumefantrine act together to kill malaria parasites in the blood. They reduce the parasites responsible for causing malaria symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor and complete the full treatment course. Taking it with food or milk may improve absorption. Do not use it to prevent malaria or take extra doses if a dose is missed without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, loss of appetite and palpitations may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about heart problems, fainting, liver disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform the doctor about all medicines being taken, especially medicines that affect heart rhythm or medicines such as rifampicin, carbamazepine or phenytoin. Seek urgent medical help for severe vomiting, fainting, an unusually fast or irregular heartbeat, seizures, confusion or worsening malaria symptoms.
