Description

Intapred-4 is a synthetic glucocorticoid (corticosteroid) with anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and anti-allergic actions. It is prescribed for managing various inflammatory, allergic, and autoimmune conditions.

Precautions

Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible.

Prolonged use requires tapering to avoid adrenal insufficiency. 

Use cautiously in patients with diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, infection, glaucoma, peptic ulcer, or liver/kidney disease. Avoid live vaccines during therapy.

Monitor for bone density loss if used long-term.

Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed.

Adverse Effects

Weight gain, fluid retention, elevated blood pressure. 

Mood changes (euphoria, depression), insomnia. 

Increased susceptibility to infections.

Skin thinning, bruising, delayed wound healing .

Long-term: cataracts, muscle weakness, bone loss.

Storage

Store below 30 °C, in a tight, light-protected container. 
Keep out of reach of children.
