What is it used for?
Cetirizine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin allergies such as hives.

How does it work?
It blocks the action of histamine, a substance released during an allergic reaction. This helps reduce itching, sneezing, runny nose and other allergy symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take this tablet exactly as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Swallow it with water; it may be taken with or without food. Do not take more than recommended.

Common side effects
Drowsiness or sleepiness, tiredness, headache, dry mouth, nausea and dizziness.

Precautions
It may cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery until its effects are known. Avoid alcohol, as it may increase sleepiness. Consult a doctor before use if there is kidney disease, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face or throat, breathing difficulty or a severe rash.
