PROX-350 Injection (Iohexol (350Mg)

Composition:

Iohexol 350 mg per mL (contrast medium)

Description:

PROX-350 Injection contains Iohexol, a non-ionic, water-soluble radiographic contrast agent used for CT scans, angiography, urography and other diagnostic imaging procedures. It enhances visualization of blood vessels, organs and body structures by increasing contrast on X-ray and CT images. Iohexol is known for good tolerability and a lower risk of allergic reactions compared to ionic contrast agents.

Precautions:

PROX-350 should be administered only under medical supervision. Caution is advised in patients with kidney impairment, diabetes, dehydration, heart disease, thyroid disorders, multiple myeloma or previous contrast allergy. Adequate hydration before and after the procedure is important to prevent contrast-induced nephropathy. Patients taking metformin should inform the physician, as the drug may need to be paused. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly necessary. All current medications and allergies should be disclosed before administration.

Adverse Effects:

Possible side effects include warmth or flushing sensation, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness or mild injection-site reactions. Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, itching, breathing difficulty or anaphylactoid reactions may occur. Kidney function changes, hypotension, arrhythmias or seizures are very rare but possible in high-risk patients.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep the vial sealed until use and inspect for particulate matter or discoloration before administration. Keep out of reach of children and use only before the expiry date.
