Isomono 10Mg Tab (10X30) Isosorbitrate Mononitrate 10 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Isosorbide mononitrate is used to prevent chest pain (angina) caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. It helps reduce the frequency of angina attacks but is not usually used for immediate relief of sudden chest pain.

How does it work?
It relaxes and widens blood vessels, helping more blood reach the heart and reducing the heart’s workload.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. Follow the instructions on the label regarding timing, and swallow the tablet as directed. Do not stop it suddenly or change the dose without medical advice. Use the prescribed fast-acting medicine for sudden chest pain, if available.

Common side effects
Headache, dizziness, light-headedness, flushing, nausea, weakness and low blood pressure may occur. Headaches may improve as the body adjusts.

Precautions
Do not use with sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil or similar medicines for erectile dysfunction or pulmonary hypertension, as this can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Avoid excess alcohol and rise slowly from sitting or lying down. Tell the doctor about low blood pressure, anaemia, glaucoma or other heart problems. Seek urgent medical help for severe or worsening chest pain, fainting or difficulty breathing.
