Composition:
Each tablet contains Chloramphenicol 250 mg as the active ingredient.
Uses:
Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic used to treat certain serious bacterial infections when other suitable antibiotics are not effective or appropriate. Its use is generally restricted because of the risk of serious adverse effects.
How to Use:
Take Chloramphenicol exactly as prescribed by a doctor. Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, as directed. Complete the prescribed course even if you start feeling better. Do not use it for viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
Precautions & Warnings:
Do not use if you are allergic to chloramphenicol or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, blood disorders, or a history of reactions to chloramphenicol. Chloramphenicol can rarely cause serious and potentially life-threatening blood disorders; your doctor may recommend blood tests during treatment. Avoid self-medication.
Possible Side Effects:
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and stomach discomfort. Serious effects can include bone marrow suppression, anemia, unusual bruising or bleeding, persistent fever, or severe weakness. Seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms occur.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Chloramphenicol should be used during pregnancy only when specifically prescribed by a doctor. It may pass into breast milk and is generally avoided during breastfeeding unless the doctor determines that treatment is necessary.
Storage:
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
Important Safety Information:
Chloramphenicol should be reserved for infections where its benefits outweigh its risks. Take it only under medical supervision and do not share it with others. Seek medical attention if your infection does not improve or becomes worse during treatment.
