What is it used for?
This medicine is used to lower high cholesterol and reduce the risk of harmful blood clots that can cause a heart attack or stroke. It is commonly prescribed for people with heart or blood-vessel disease, including after certain heart procedures, when both cholesterol control and antiplatelet treatment are needed.

How does it work?
Rosuvastatin lowers the liver’s production of cholesterol, reducing harmful LDL cholesterol in the blood. Clopidogrel makes platelets less likely to stick together, helping prevent blood clots.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor and use it regularly. Do not stop taking it, especially clopidogrel, without medical advice. If a procedure or surgery is planned, inform the doctor that this medicine is being taken.

Common side effects
Bruising or easier bleeding, nosebleeds, headache, stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhoea or constipation, and muscle aches may occur.

Precautions
Seek medical help for heavy or unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe weakness, or unexplained muscle pain or weakness with dark urine. Tell the doctor about liver or kidney disease, a history of bleeding, stomach ulcers, or any planned surgery or dental procedure. Inform the doctor about all medicines being used, particularly blood thinners, painkillers such as ibuprofen or aspirin, and other medicines that increase bleeding risk. Rosuvastatin should not be used during pregnancy and is generally avoided during breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a doctor.
