What is it used for?
This combination is used to help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other blood-vessel problems in people with cardiovascular disease or a high risk of blood clots. It also lowers high cholesterol and helps prevent further heart-related events.

How does it work?
Rosuvastatin lowers harmful LDL cholesterol made by the liver. Clopidogrel reduces the ability of blood platelets to stick together and form harmful clots.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor, usually at the same time each day. Do not stop it without medical advice, especially after a heart procedure or stent. If a dose is missed, follow the doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions.

Common side effects
Easy bruising or bleeding, headache, indigestion, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, and muscle aches may occur.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about any history of bleeding, stomach ulcers, liver disease, kidney disease, or muscle problems. Seek medical help for unusual or prolonged bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe muscle pain or weakness, or dark urine. Tell the doctor or dentist before surgery or dental treatment. Avoid pregnancy and breastfeeding unless specifically advised, and report all other medicines because some can increase bleeding or muscle-related side effects.
