Ketocip Shampoo (Ketoconazole 1% w/v)

Composition:
Each 100 ml of shampoo contains:

Ketoconazole IP 1% w/v,Base: q.s.

Description:
Ketocip Shampoo contains Ketoconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal agent belonging to the imidazole group. It acts by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis in the fungal cell membrane, causing structural and functional impairment, leading to fungal cell death.

It is used topically for the treatment and prevention of fungal infections of the scalp and seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff).

Directions for Use:

For external use only.

Apply sufficient shampoo to wet hair and scalp, lather well, and leave for 3–5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

Use twice weekly for 2–4 weeks, then once weekly or as directed by a physician for maintenance.

Warnings and Precautions:

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; rinse immediately if contact occurs.

Discontinue if irritation, redness, or burning develops.

Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole or any component of the formulation.

Prolonged use may alter normal scalp flora; use only as prescribed.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Mild scalp irritation, dryness, itching, or burning.

Occasional: Hair texture changes or oiliness/dryness of hair.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis, hair discoloration (especially chemically treated hair).

Storage:

Store below 30°C, protected from direct sunlight.

Do not freeze.

Keep out of reach of children.
