What is it used for?
This combination is used for temporary relief of cough and cold symptoms, including dry cough, blocked or stuffy nose, and runny nose.

How does it work?
Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex. Phenylephrine helps reduce nasal congestion, while chlorpheniramine helps relieve runny nose and sneezing.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed on the product label or by a doctor. Measure the liquid with a proper measuring device. Do not take more than recommended, and avoid using other cough, cold or allergy medicines at the same time unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea, stomach upset, restlessness or difficulty sleeping. Phenylephrine may cause a fast heartbeat or a rise in blood pressure.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol and driving or operating machinery if drowsy or dizzy. Ask a doctor before use if there is high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, prostate problems or liver disease. Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them; check with a doctor or pharmacist before use with antidepressants or other medicines. Use in children only as directed by a doctor or product label.
