What is it used for?
Levetiracetam is an anti-seizure medicine used to prevent and control epileptic seizures, including focal seizures and some generalized seizures. It may be used alone or together with other seizure medicines, as prescribed.

How does it work?
It helps reduce abnormal electrical activity in the brain by regulating the release of chemical signals between nerve cells.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same times each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not stop treatment or change the dose suddenly, as this may worsen seizures. If a dose is missed, follow the advice provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Sleepiness, dizziness, headache, tiredness, nausea, irritability, agitation, or mood changes may occur.

Precautions
It may cause sleepiness or dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery until its effects are known. Inform the doctor about kidney problems, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for severe rash, swelling, breathing difficulty, unusual aggression, depression, suicidal thoughts, or worsening seizures. Do not stop it suddenly without medical advice.
