What is it used for?
This combination is generally prescribed to lower cholesterol and help reduce the risk of heart attack and clot-related stroke in people with coronary artery disease or other cardiovascular risk. It should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Atorvastatin lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and helps slow the build-up of fatty deposits in blood vessels. Aspirin reduces platelet clumping, helping lower the chance of harmful blood clots.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed and swallow with water. Do not stop it or change the dose without medical advice, especially because stopping aspirin may increase clot risk. If a dose is missed, follow the prescriber’s instructions and do not take an extra dose unless advised.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach discomfort, nausea, easy bruising or bleeding, and muscle aches may occur. Seek medical advice for unusual or persistent muscle pain, weakness, or dark urine.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, liver disease, kidney disease, asthma triggered by painkillers, or an allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Inform the doctor about all medicines, especially blood thinners and other medicines that increase bleeding risk. Avoid use during pregnancy unless specifically advised; ask a doctor before use while breastfeeding. Seek urgent help for severe bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, or signs of a serious allergic reaction.
