Linezolid – 600 mg, Excipients q.s.

Description

Lizintas-600 contains Linezolid, an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic.
It is used for treating serious Gram-positive bacterial infections, including skin infections, pneumonia, MRSA infections, and resistant infections where other antibiotics may not work.

Precautions

Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to Linezolid.

Use cautiously in hypertension, thyroid disorders, and psychiatric conditions due to MAO-inhibitor–like activity.

Do not take with serotonergic drugs (risk of serotonin syndrome).

Monitor blood counts during prolonged use (risk of bone marrow suppression).

Avoid excess tyramine-rich foods (aged cheese, cured meats).

Not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed.

Adverse Effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

Headache, dizziness

Metallic taste

Decreased blood counts (anemia, thrombocytopenia) on long-term use

Rare: neuropathy, lactic acidosis

Storage

Store below 25–30°C, in a cool, dry place.
Protect from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
