Looselac Suspn (200Ml) Lactulose 66% 10Gm by Elder

What is it used for?
Lactulose is mainly used to relieve constipation by softening stools and making them easier to pass. It may also be prescribed by a doctor for certain liver-related conditions to help reduce ammonia levels.

How does it work?
It draws water into the bowel, which softens the stool and helps promote a bowel movement. It is not absorbed significantly into the body.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed by the doctor or on the product label. Do not take more than recommended. Drink adequate fluids unless fluid restriction has been advised. The effect may take some time; do not use it for longer than advised without medical guidance.

Common side effects
Gas, bloating, stomach cramps, nausea and diarrhoea, especially if too much is taken.

Precautions
Do not use it without medical advice if there is severe or unexplained stomach pain, vomiting, suspected bowel blockage or severe dehydration. Prolonged or excessive diarrhoea may cause dehydration and changes in body salts. People with diabetes should seek advice because some lactulose products contain sugars. Consult a doctor if constipation persists or worsens.
