What is it used for?
Mebeverine is used to relieve painful intestinal cramps and spasms, especially symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), such as abdominal pain, bloating and bowel discomfort.

How does it work?
It directly relaxes the muscles of the intestine, helping to reduce spasms and cramping without significantly affecting normal bowel movement.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed or as directed on the package. Swallow the tablet with water and do not exceed the recommended amount. Seek medical advice if symptoms are new, severe or do not improve.

Common side effects
Side effects are uncommon. Possible effects include indigestion, heartburn, dizziness, headache, nausea, constipation or diarrhoea. Allergic reactions such as rash, itching or swelling can rarely occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if allergic to mebeverine or any of its ingredients. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children. Seek medical advice for blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, fever, vomiting, severe abdominal pain or persistent bowel changes. Stop use and seek urgent help if swelling of the face or throat or difficulty breathing occurs.
