What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve crampy pain, including painful menstrual cramps and spasmodic abdominal pain.

How does it work?
Mefenamic acid reduces the production of substances that cause pain and inflammation. Dicyclomine relaxes spasms in the muscles of the stomach and intestines, helping reduce cramping.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Do not take more or use it for longer than advised.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhoea or constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and blurred vision may occur.

Precautions
Avoid this medicine if there is a history of allergy to mefenamic acid, dicyclomine, aspirin or other NSAIDs. Use cautiously with stomach ulcers or bleeding, kidney or liver problems, asthma, glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, or bowel blockage. Avoid combining it with other NSAID painkillers unless advised by a doctor. It should generally be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Seek urgent medical help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, breathing difficulty or facial swelling.
