MEROTECH-1000 Injection (MEROPENEM)

Composition:

Meropenem 1 g per vial

Description:

MEROTECH-1000 Injection contains Meropenem, a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic effective against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria. It is used to treat severe infections such as complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, hospital-acquired pneumonia, meningitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and septicemia. Meropenem inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to rapid bacterial death.

Precautions:

MEROTECH-1000 should be used only under medical supervision. Caution is required in patients with renal impairment, history of hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics, or CNS disorders. Dose adjustments are necessary for renal dysfunction. Concomitant use with valproic acid may reduce anticonvulsant levels. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if prescribed. Inform the physician of all other medications.

Adverse Effects:

Common adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, rash, and injection site reactions. Rarely, hypersensitivity, seizures, liver enzyme elevation, and antibiotic-associated colitis may occur.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Reconstitute with the provided diluent just before use and use within the recommended time. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
