Description

Mesylonib-400 (Imatinib) is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). It works by blocking the abnormal proteins that drive cancer cell growth, helping to control the disease and reduce tumor progression.

Precautions

Use only under supervision of an oncologist.
Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, and kidney function is required.
Inform the doctor if you experience swelling, rapid weight gain, bleeding, or severe fatigue.
Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice.
Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Use cautiously in patients with heart disease, liver disease, or kidney impairment.

Adverse Effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Fluid retention, swelling around eyes or ankles.
Muscle cramps, bone or joint pain.
Rash or skin irritation.
Fatigue and headache.
Rare: severe liver toxicity, heart failure, bone marrow suppression.

Storage

Store below 30°C. Keep tablets in their original blister to protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
