Description

Metrozox is a triple-action gastrointestinal suspension used to treat mixed bacterial and protozoal intestinal infections

This combination helps relieve symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, and flatulence associated with infections.

Precautions

Use only as prescribed by a physician.

Avoid alcohol during metronidazole therapy and for at least 48 hours after: can cause disulfiram-like reaction.

Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment, as metabolism and excretion may be affected.

Not recommended during first trimester of pregnancy without medical advice.

Monitor for signs of central nervous system side effects (e.g., dizziness).

Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Avoid exposure to bright sunlight (photosensitivity risk with ofloxacin).

Adverse Effects

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort

Metallic taste in the mouth

Dizziness, headache

Flatulence or bloating (though simethicone reduces this)

Rare: neurological symptoms, allergic reactions, liver enzyme elevation

Storage

Store at room temperature (below ~30°C) in a cool, dry place.
Shake well before use to ensure uniform suspension.
