Montas-Fx 10 Tab (Montelukast Sodium 10Mg + Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 10Mg, Film Coated Tablet) By Intas

What is it used for?
Used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Fexofenadine blocks histamine, a substance involved in allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that can contribute to inflammation and nasal allergy symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed and swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not take it with apple, orange or grapefruit juice, as these may reduce fexofenadine absorption. Avoid taking aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids close to this medicine unless advised otherwise.

Common side effects
Headache, dizziness, nausea, tiredness, dry mouth and stomach discomfort may occur.

Precautions
Montelukast has been linked to mood or behaviour changes, unusual dreams, sleep problems, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. Seek medical advice promptly if any such changes occur. This medicine is not intended for sudden asthma attacks. Tell the doctor about kidney disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any other medicines being taken.
