What is it used for?
Used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes. It may also be prescribed as an add-on treatment for some people with asthma, but it does not relieve a sudden asthma attack.

How does it work?
Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that contribute to allergy and airway inflammation. Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching and a runny nose.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Shake the bottle well before use and measure the liquid with the supplied measuring device. Do not take more than the prescribed amount. Follow the prescribed schedule and duration.

Common side effects
Sleepiness or tiredness, headache, dry mouth, stomach pain or discomfort, and nausea may occur.

Precautions
Levocetirizine may cause drowsiness; avoid driving or alcohol until its effects are known. Tell the doctor about kidney disease or any previous allergy to this medicine. Montelukast may rarely cause mood or behaviour changes, nightmares, sleep problems, depression or suicidal thoughts; stop the medicine and seek medical help promptly if these occur. This medicine should not be used to treat a sudden asthma attack.
