What is it used for?
Used mainly to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itching, and watery eyes. It may also be prescribed when allergies are linked with asthma, but it is not a rescue medicine for sudden breathing difficulty.

How does it work?
Levocetirizine blocks histamine, which causes allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals involved in allergic inflammation and airway symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Do not take more than the recommended amount. Continue any other asthma medicines as directed and do not use this medicine for a sudden asthma attack.

Common side effects
Sleepiness, headache, tiredness, dry mouth, and stomach discomfort or abdominal pain.

Precautions
Levocetirizine may cause sleepiness; use caution with driving, alcohol, or other medicines that cause drowsiness. Stop and seek medical advice if unusual mood or behaviour changes, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, agitation, or suicidal thoughts occur, as montelukast can rarely cause serious mental health effects. Inform the doctor about kidney disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or allergy to either ingredient.
