Mtn 10 Tabs (20X10) Montelukast 10 Mg Tab By Elder

What is it used for?
Montelukast is used to help prevent and control asthma symptoms, including symptoms triggered by exercise. It may also help relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, a blocked or runny nose, and itchy nose. It is not a rescue medicine for a sudden asthma attack.

How does it work?
It blocks leukotrienes, substances involved in airway swelling, tightening and allergy symptoms. This helps keep the airways more open and reduces inflammation.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Do not take extra doses, and do not use it instead of a prescribed rescue inhaler during a sudden asthma attack. Continue other asthma medicines unless the prescriber advises otherwise.

Common side effects
Headache, stomach pain, nausea and diarrhoea may occur.

Precautions
Stop the medicine and seek medical advice promptly if there are significant mood or behaviour changes, unusual dreams, sleep problems, anxiety, depression or thoughts of self-harm. Tell the prescriber about any previous mental health problems, allergies or liver disease. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling or a severe allergic reaction.
