Mupivact Ointment * (20X5Gm) Mupirocin 2% by Elder

What is it used for?
Mupirocin 2% is a topical antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial skin infections, such as impetigo and infected minor cuts or wounds.

How does it work?
It stops susceptible bacteria from making essential proteins, which prevents them from growing and helps clear the infection.

How to take/use it
Use only on the skin and apply exactly as prescribed. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and inside of the nose unless specifically prescribed for that use. Wash hands before and after applying it, unless the hands are being treated.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness or irritation where it is applied. Allergic rash can occur rarely.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to mupirocin or any ingredient. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling, breathing difficulty or a widespread rash occurs. Do not use for longer than directed, as prolonged use may allow other organisms to grow. Seek medical advice if the infection worsens or does not improve.
